SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Hunan Xiangwei plans to complete expansion of its polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) plant to 140,000 tonne/year from 100,000 tonne/year at Huaihua in Hunan province in April 2012, a company source said late on Wednesday.

The expansion work was started in the middle of 2011 and the company will expand its capacity of cotton-shaped PVA in the domestic market. Cotton-shaped PVA is in short supply in China this year.
