Polimeri Europa lifts FM on olefin products at Dunkirk cracker

LONDON (ICIS)--Polimeri Europa has recently lifted the force majeure on ethylene (C2), propylene (C3) and crude butylenes (C4s) at its Dunkirk site, as smooth operations at the on-site cracker have been achieved, said a company source on Friday.

The force majeure on olefin products produced at the Dunkirk site had been declared by the Italy-headquartered Eni subsidiary because of the unexpected shutdown of the cracker on 23 October

Following this, the unit had a series of restart delays caused by additional checks and technical issues, but the cracker had resumed output in the first half of December, albeit at reduced operating rates, in line with market conditions.

Polimeri Europa’s  Dunkirk cracker has the capacity to produce 380,000 tonnes/year of ethylene, according to ICIS data.
