SHANGHAI (ICIS)--China’s Hanergy Holding Group is planning to build a solar cell production base in Qinghai province, a company source said on Monday.
Hanergy Holding Group and the Qinghai provincial government on 23 December this year signed an agreement for the construction of the 500 megawatt/year (MW/year) solar cell production base, according to the source.
The construction of a first-phase facility at the production base, with a capacity of 250 MW/year, is expected to begin soon but no firm dates have been fixed, the source added.
Financial details of the project were not immediately available.
