SHANGHAI (ICIS)--China’s Shandong Aobao Chemical Industry Group has achieved on-spec production at its new 60,000 tonne/year methanol plant at Weifang in Shandong province, a company source said late on Monday.

The company started test runs at the beginning of November and achieved on-spec product last week, the source added.

The company also achieved on-spec ammonia product at its 180,000 tonne/year ammonia plant at the same site on the same day, the source said.

Shandong Aobao invested a total of yuan (CNY) 300m ($47m) in the plants and construction work was started in August 2010, the source said.

Both units were started up in early December this year, the source added.
