SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Guangzhou Weilianda Plasticizer plans to restart its 50,000 tonne/year dioctyl phthalate (DOP) plant at Guangzhou on 4 January, a company source said on Tuesday.
“The plant was shut down on 26 December because feedstock phthalic anhydride (PA) is in short supply,” a company source said.
Supply of DOP in the domestic market will be reduced by the shutdown, which may cause prices to rise, a market player from southern China said.
