China’s Befar Group restarts Shandong 80,000 tonne/year PO line

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Befar Group has restarted its 80,000 tonne/year propylene oxide (PO) line in Shandong province that was shut late last year, a company source said on Thursday.

The line was shut down on 29 December last year because of some mechanical problems, the sourced added. The plant was restarted on Wednesday.

The company has another 110,000 tonne/year PO line at the same site.

The two lines had been operating at about 60% but are expected to return to normal rate by the end of the week, the source added. Befar Group primarily supplies PO to end-users in northern and eastern China.
