SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Hengyuan Petrochemical has shut its 250,000 tonne/year gas fractionation unit at Dezhou in Shandong province on Friday because of power supply problems, a company source said.

The unit was shut along with its upstream and downstream units, including a 2,000,000 tonne/year crude distillation unit (CDU) unit and a 100,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) powder unit.

“We are selling propylene stock to the market instead of supplying to the PP powder unit,” the source said, adding that the company expects to resolve the power supply issue by around 10 January.

The gas fractionation unit mainly produces propylene and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
