Taiwan’s Far Eastern Group to restart Guanyin PET plant

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>Taiwan's Far Eastern Group in planning to restart its polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle resin plant on 9 or 10 January, after two weeks of shutdown, a company source said on Friday.
The PET plant located at Guanyin, Taoyuan county, was taken off line on 22 December for a scheduled maintenance.
Far Eastern Group operates two PET plants in Taiwan with a combined capacity of 650,000 tonnes/year.
The second plant, which has a smaller capacity than the Guanyin line, is located at Xinpu in Hsinchu county.
