LONDON (ICIS)--The European January styrene customer reference price (CRP) has been settled at €1,220/tonne ($1,564/tonne), up €120/tonne from last month, the seller involved said on Friday.

The increase was in line with the rise for the January barge contract, mostly driven by higher benzene costs but tempered by lower than expected demand for the current month.

The contract was agreed on a free carrier (FCA) Rotterdam basis.
