HOUSTON (ICIS)--A couple of styrene producers confirmed on Monday they will be increasing January contract prices by 8 cents/lb ($176/tonne, €139/tonne), because of a 70 cent/gal increase in the January feedstock benzene contract.
The producer announced the increases during the week that ended on 6 December.
The increases also come as market participants were still negotiating December styrene contracts.
Initial December styrene contract settlements have been mixed thus far, but full settlements are expected by Friday.
Major US styrene producers include Americas Styrenics, Styrolution, LyondellBasell, Total and Westlake Chemical.
