Sasol to sell Witten, Germany, oleochemicals site to Cremer Oleo

LONDON (ICIS)--Sasol Germany has agreed to sell its Witten, Germany, oleochemicals production site and associated businesses to Hamburg-headquartered Cremer Oleo, the South African coal-to-oil and chemicals producer Sasol said on Wednesday.

Witten is one of three Sasol sites in the country and part of its Olefins & Surfactants division.

Its product range comprises more than 250 different oleochemicals for use in the cosmetics, food and pharmaceutical industries and for technical applications, Sasol said. About 100 personnel are employed at the site.

Cremer Oleo has been producing and distributing oleochemical commodities since the late 1970s.

The companies did not disclose financial details of the transaction.
