SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Yongsan Chemicals is planning to shut its 38,000 tonne/year maleic anhydride (MA) plant at Ulsan for maintenance in October, a company source said on Thursday.
According to the source, the company will shut its MA plant for one month.
Yongsan Chemicals is reducing its MA exports in an effort to build up its inventory to prepare for the shutdown.
“We [are not exporting] any MA cargoes in January and February as we are currently operating on low inventory levels,” said the source.
