SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Guizhou Jinchi Chemical has achieved on-spec production at its coal-based chemical project at Zunyi in Guizhou province, a source from Guizhou Chitianhua Group said on Friday.

The project includes a 300,000 tonne/year ammonia plant, a 520,000 tonne/year urea plant and a 300,000 tonne/year methanol plant, the source said.

The company achieved on-spec production at all three plants on 11 January, the source added.

The company started construction work on the plants on 28 August 2007, the source said, without giving further details.

The methanol plant was started up on 15 December 2011. Details on the start-up of the other plants were not immediately available.
