SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Thai Lube Base is running its slackwax unit at Sriracha in Chonburi province at full rates, a source from the parent company Thaioil said on Monday.

The unit is producing 4,000-5,000 tonnes/month of slackwax, the source added.

Thai Lube Base restarted its approximately 36,000 tonne/year slackwax plant on 15 December after completing a turnaround of about 45 days.

Slackwax is a byproduct of Group I base oils refining.

The product is priced as a premium over gasoil prices, said the source.

Other slackwax producers in Asia include Exxon Mobil, S-Oil and Pertamina.
