Brazil's 2011 SBR imports fall 3.9% year on year

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Brazil imported 3.9% less styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) in 2011 versus 2010, according to data obtained on Thursday.

The nation imported 206,782 tonnes of SBR, down from 215,135 tonnes in 2010, according to the Minister of Development in Brazil.

The total value of the material, however, was 29.6% higher in 2011 than it was in 2010.

The average price in 2011 was $3,795/tonne (€2,960/tonne), which was 34.8% higher than in 2010.
