US ethanol stocks up three straight weeks as production drops

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ethanol inventories firmed for the third week in a row while production fell last week, according to Energy Information Administration (EIA) data revealed on Thursday.

The data was delayed by one day because of the Martin Luther King Jr holiday on Monday.

Ethanol inventories for the week that ended on 13 January were at 19.5m bbl, up by 700,000 bbl or 4% from 18.8m bbl a week earlier.

Meanwhile, ethanol production was at 941,000 bbl, down by 3,000 bbl or 0.3% from 944,000 bbl the previous week.
