Raw materials - and bio-based raw materials in particular - will have a profound impact on the future of Latin America's chemical sector. The continent is rich in agricultural and petroleum assets, and companies will seek to take advantage of both to solidify their cost position and supply chains.
These opportunities will be the hot topics in the tropics at the 6th Brazilian Congress of Chemicals and Petrochemicals Distributors (EBDQUIM) meeting from March 14-16 in the idyllic setting of Praia do Forte, Bahia, Brazil.
Along with multinational chemical producers with local activities in Brazil - including Braskem, Eastman Chemical and OXEA - ICIS will have a major presence at the meeting, hosted by Associquim, the Brazilian Association of Chemicals and Petrochemicals Distributors, and its president Rubens Medrano.
I am honored and excited to be speaking at EBDQUIM. Being in a global industry - in which Brazil is playing an increasing role - we will seek to bring you coverage and insights on the dynamics of chemical distribution, as well as production in Latin America.
