New orders for chemicals in the EU fall by 0.7% in November

LONDON (ICIS)--New orders for chemicals in the EU fell by 0.7% in November 2011 compared with the previous month, statistics office Eurostat said on Tuesday.

From October to November, new orders for chemicals in the 17-member eurozone decreased by 0.9%, according to Eurostat figures.

New orders for chemicals in the 27 EU member states grew by 2.9% year on year in November 2011, while new orders were 1.0% higher in the eurozone.

Overall, industrial new orders in the EU in November fell by 1.4% compared with October.

Total industrial new orders in the eurozone in November dropped by 1.3% month on month, Eurostat said.

Industrial new orders fell by 1.2% in the EU and by 2.7% in the eurozone in November 2011 compared with November 2010.
