US ethanol stocks firm for fourth straight week

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ethanol inventories increased for the fourth consecutive week, even though production continued to fall, according to Energy Information Administration (EIA) data revealed on Wednesday.

Ethanol inventories for the week that ended on 20 January were at 19.8m bbl, up by 300,000 bbl or 1.5% from 19.5m bbl the week before.

Meanwhile, ethanol production was at 934,000 bbl, down by 7,000 bbl or 0.7% from 941,000 bbl the previous week.
