HOUSTON (ICIS)--Shell shut down its Deer Park cracker in Texas because of a leak from a propylene compressor supply line, the company said in a public filing on Friday.

"Olefins plant 2 was shut down to isolate and repair the leak. This incident is currently under investigation," the company said in the filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). No other details were available.

Shell has 835,000 tonnes/year of ethylene capacity at the site.

A company spokesperson declined to comment on the outage.
