HOUSTON (ICIS)--ExxonMobil reported flaring from its Beaumont cracker in Texas as a result of a unit upset, the company said in a regulatory filing available on Friday.

The unit upset began on Thursday, ExxonMobil said.

"Equipment was isolated and flares were utilised to minimise emissions," the company said in a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

No other details were released.

Information on the operational status of the 900,000 tonne/year cracker was not available because ExxonMobil does not comment on its operations.
