SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Kuitun Jinjiang Chemical Corporation is currently running its 400,000 tonne/year synthetic ammonia and a 700,000 tonne/year urea unit at Kuitun in the northwest province of Xinjiang at low operating rates after startup last month, a company source said on Wednesday.

On-spec production was achieved on 22 January, the source said, without stating the exact run rates.

The company started the construction of the coal-chemical project in June 2009, the source added.

Kuitun Jinjiang Chemical Corporation is a joint venture between Hangzhou Jinjiang Group and Nonqishi of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corporation, with each holding 50% stake.
