SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Iran’s Pars Petrochemical has declared force majeure on its styrene monomer (SM) supply after its facility was shut on 28 January because of utilities issues, a company source said on Wednesday.

The 600,000 tonne/year facility is located at Assaluyeh.

“The force majeure was effective from 29 January and we have cancelled a 12,000 tonne shipment to China in early February,” the source said.

The force majeure is expected to last until at least 8 February. The company has not indicated when the facility will be restarted.
