TOKYO (ICIS)--Japanese chemical producer Tosoh Corp said on Friday it posted a 5.7% increase in its nine-month net profit to yen (Y) 7.04bn (£$92.4m) from Y6.66bn year on year because of higher domestic shipments of its products.
Its operating profit for the nine-month period to 31 December 2011 fell by 0.5% to Y20.8bn from Y20.9bn in the same period a year earlier, while net sales were up by 5.9% to Y525.1bn from Y495.9bn.
In the petrochemicals segment, Tosoh Corp’s nine-month operating profit rose by 63.8% to Y10.3bn year on year, while its net sales rose 15.3% to Y153.2bn.
