SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Juhua Group Corp Polyamide Fibre Factory plans to begin expansion works to double the capacity of its 25,000 tonne/year caprolactam (capro) line at Quzhou in Zhejiang province in the middle of February, a company source said on Tuesday.
The expansion works will last at least one month and include technological improvements on the line, the source added.
The line’s capacity will be increased to 50,000 tonnes/year and bring China’s capro capacity to 615,000 tonnes/year.
Juhua Group, one of the three capro producers in China aside from DSM Nanjing and Sinopec, conducted an expansion of its capro capacity from 20,000 tonnes/year to 25,000 tonnes/year in January 2011.
