SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwanese maleic anhydride (MA) producer Tasco Chemical is planning to shut its 25,000 tonne/year facility at Lin Yuan, Kaoshiung in March for a month-long scheduled turnaround, a company source said on Wednesday.

The date when the plant will be taken off line was not immediately known.

"We are now building up on the stock level. Our spot material will be very limited. So we are in no hurry to offer [any cargoes]," the source added.

Other MA producers in the region include Taiwan’s UPC Technology, South Korean Yongsan Chemicals, Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical, Indonesia’s Justus Sakti Raya Corp, Taiwan’s Taiwan Prosperity Chemical Corp (TPCC) and Japan’s Nippon Shokubai.
