HOUSTON (ICIS)--US styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) spot prices for non-oil grade 1502 material roseby 10 cents/lb ($220/tonne, €165/tonne) on price hikes for feedstock butadiene (BD) and styrene, sources said Wednesday.

US SBR 1502 spot prices were at 150-160 cents/lb.

Market participants expect to see SBR contract prices to increase because of increased feedstock costs when contracts are settled for feedstocks.

Feedstock BD contract prices have increased by 12-16% from the January contract prices, while early nominations for the January contract prices for feedstock styrene are showing an increase of 12-13%.

US producers of SBR include American Synthetic Rubber, Ashland Chemical, Firestone Polymers, Goodyear Tire & Rubber, LANXESS and Lion Copolymer.
