HOUSTON (ICIS)--US January styrene contract settlements were confirmed at an average increase of 7 cents/lb ($154/tonne, €116/tonne) from December following higher feedstock January benzene contracts, market participants said on Friday.
The increase, which took January contract prices up to 66-70 cents/lb, was in line with initial January contract settlements heard at a similar level a week earlier.
Producers have already come out with another 7 cent/lb increase for February styrene contracts, based on the 50 cent/gal increase in the January benzene contract.
