SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Formosa BP Chemicals Corp (FBPC) plans to shut its 300,000 tonne/year acetic acid plant at ?xml:namespace>
“The plant will be shut for 20 or 30 days for annual maintenance,” the official said.
Meanwhile, spot prices of acetic acid in Asia rose to around $455/tonne (€346/tonne) CFR (cost and freight) NE Asia at the close of business last Friday, up 2.25% from one-year lows recorded in December 2011, on the back of firmer feedstock methanol and naphtha values, according to ICIS data.
