BRISBANE (ICIS)--Japan’s Asahi Kasei plans to shut its 100,000 tonne/year methyl methacrylate (MMA) plant in Kawasaki on 22 February for a scheduled turnaround, a company source said on Tuesday.

The MMA plant will be shut for 20 days and will be restarted in March, said the source.

Asahi Kasei will need to procure MMA from co-producers to supply its existing customers during the shutdown as its stocks are limited, the source added.
