Thailand’s PTTGC restarts ethane cracker after power outage

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Thailand’s PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) restarted its 1m tonne/year ethane cracker at Map Ta Phut on 13 February following an unplanned shutdown since the end of last month, a company source said on Tuesday.

The said the company’s derivative 300,000 tonne/year low density polyethylene (LDPE) facility and a 400,000 tonne/year linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) unit also resumed operations on Monday.

The cracker and derivative plants were taken off line on 31 January because of a power outage.
