LONDON (ICIS)--Jacobs has won a contract from French chemicals firm Arkema for work on four projects in China, the US-based petrochemicals engineering firm said on Tuesday.

The contract value was not disclosed.

Jacobs said it would be providing basic engineering services to support the provision of Arkema's proprietary suspension and emulsion technology to customers in China.

Arkema's technology is being used in four new polyvinyl chloride (PVC) production plants in Hefei, Golmud, Etuoke Banner and Wu Lan Cha Bu.

“These contracts recognise our special technical capabilities in one key area of the competitive global chemical industry. This new work also satisfies our ongoing strategy to strengthen Jacobs' presence in China," said vice-president Robert Matha.
