France’s Novapex declares force majeure on phenol, acetone

LONDON (ICIS)--France-based Novapex has declared force majeure on the supply of phenol and acetone from its Roussillon plant because of poor weather conditions, a source at the producer said on Tuesday.

In a letter to its customers, Novapex said that owing to severe weather conditions it has faced several and unexpected technical difficulties over the past ten days which has been affecting operations at Roussillon.

Because of this, the company has declared force majeure on phenol and acetone.

The company has assured its customer base that it is making every effort to restore normal operations at the site.

Novapex has the capacity to produce 175,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 108,000 tonnes/year of acetone at Roussillon.
