HOUSTON (ICIS)--Flint Hills Resources told Texas regulators on Tuesday it was planning to restart its Port Arthur chemical facility, which was shut down on 7 February by a loss of steam.

“This notification is not being filed more than 10 days prior to the planned start–up event…”, Flint Hills said in a filing with the Texas Commission for Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

A company spokesman was not immediately available for comment.

Loss of steam from a third-party caused the outage at Flint Hills’s cracker, sources said. The company has 621,000 tonnes/year of ethylene capacity at the site.
