SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Yu Yang New Energy started up its new 120,000 tonne/year expandable polystyrene (EPS) plant at Binzhou, Shandong province, late last week, with the unit's current run rate at 70%, a company source said on Thursday.

The plant has achieved on-spec products after coming on stream on 11 February, the source said.

The company purchases feedstock styrene monomer (SM) for the plant, mainly from China’s Qilu Petrochemical, the source said.
