HOUSTON (ICIS)--Brazil-based Petrobras plans to start operations at its first refinery in Comperj in September 2014, the company said on Thursday.
In August, Petrobras said the first refinery train would begin by 2014, and it would have a capacity of 165,000 bbl/day.
In late November, it said the refinery stage should begin operations at the end of 2013.
The later date will give Petrobras more time to work on the contracting model for the refinery's utilities, the company said.
The refinery is one of two that Petrobras plans to build at the Complexo Petroquimico do Rio de Janeiro (Comperj).
When completed, Comperj will have several units that will produce olefins, aromatics, polyolefins and glycols.
