Russia’s plastics, synthetic rubber output down in January

MOSCOW (ICIS)--Russia’s overall production of plastics and synthetic rubber was marginally down in January, the Russian statistics agency Rosstat announced on Friday.

In January 2012, the country’s total output of plastics amounted to 452,000 tonnes or 2.3% down year on year and 6% down month on month, according to Rosstat.

Synthetic rubber production was 1% down, year on year, at 127,000 tonnes, but it was 1.6% up month on month, the agency said.

Cord and yarn output amounted to 10,500 tonnes or 13.7% down year on year, but 2.5% up month on month, it said.
