Reliance eyes end-2015 start-up for new Jamnagar cracker

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Indian petrochemical major Reliance Industries has pushed back the start up of its planned new cracker in Jamnagar to the end of 2015, said a source close to the company on Wednesday.

The cracker is expected to produce around 1.4m tonnes/year of ethylene, he added, without providing further details.

Market sources had earlier said that the cracker was expected to come on stream at the end of 2014 or in the first half of 2015.

The key feedstocks for the cracker would be offgases from the company’s two world-scale refineries at Jamnagar but the company is also expected to utilise other refinery streams.
