The company has declared a force majeure on supply from the plant following the shutdown on 17 February, the source said.
“We are having repair works and it is difficult to get specific timing for the restart,” the source said.
The company has depleted its own inventory and is trying to get support from its joint venture companies in order to provide supply to contract customers, he added.
AMI’s Merak plant is a joint venture between BP and Mitsui Chemicals.
