SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Hebi Coal Group plans to conduct trial runs at its 50,000 tonne/year 1,4 butanediol (BDO) unit in Henan province, central China, in the second half of April, a company official said on Friday.
The unit was the first phase of the company’s 100,000 tonne/year BDO project, which was expected to come on stream at the end of 2011, but was delayed by four months, according to a newsletter published on the company's website.
No reason was given for the delay.
The construction work is due to be complete by the end of March and on-spec production is expected by the second half of May, it said.
Details about the other 50,000 tonne/year BDO unit were not immediately available.
