LONDON (ICIS)--Synthos has agreed to purchase crude C4 feedstock valued at zlotych (Zl) 674m ($215.3m, €161.2m) from SABIC Petrochemicals, the Poland-based synthetic rubber producer said on Friday.

Raffinate 1 worth Zl 189m would also be bought from the SABIC subsidiary, headquartered in Saudi Arabia, under contracts covering a delivery period running to 31 December 2013, it added.

Synthos, Europe’s second largest manufacturer of synthetic rubber, is building up its production capacities in butadiene products, with a 100,000 tonne/year solution styrene butadiene rubber (S-SBR) plant due to be launched in the Krakow special economic zone in southern Poland by 2015.

Raffinate 1 is a C4 fraction that is produced from cracking naphtha.
