China’s Shandong Heze Yuhuang Chemical restarts EPS plant

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shandong Heze Yuhuang Chemical is running its 100,000 tonne/year expandable polystyrene (EPS) plant in Shandong province at 20-30% capacity after restarting it over the weekend, a company source said on Monday.

The company restarted the plant on 26 February after taking it off line towards the end of November for maintenance of a device.

However, the maintenance did not have much impact on the EPS market as demand for block flame retardant (FR) resins was weak in the winter, a local distributer said.
