“We are doing a study to explore expansion opportunity. The initial study looks very promising,” PTTGC CEO Veerasak Kositpaisal told ICIS in an interview.
PTTGC is also considering increasing the production capacity of its aromatics and polyethylene (PE) facilities as part of its “low-cost per tonnage investment” strategy to grow its core businesses, said Kositpaisal.
“Initial study looks good. Now, we will have to do some more detailed study,” said the PTTGC CEO, adding it will be completed this year.
The study will cover PTTGC’s three new PE facilities producing high density polyethylene (HDPE), linear low density PE (LLDPE) and low density PE (LDPE) with a combined capacity 1m tonne/year, he said.
