SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Henan Coal Chemical Group has started to build its 230m cbm/year natural gas plant at Yima in Henan as part of its aim to diversify its product portfolio and increase profit, a company source said on Wednesday.

The plant, which the company started to build on 23 February, will use coal gas and coke gas as feedstock, the source added.

The plant is part of the company’s yuan (CNY) 1.39bn ($22.1m) project that includes a 200,000 tonne/year ammonium nitrate (AN) plant at the same site, the source said.

The company is planning to start up the plants by late 2013, said the source.
