HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ethylene production in January totalled 4.527bn lb (2.05m tonnes), a 1.8% drop from 4.610bn lb produced in the same month in 2011, consulting firm Jacobs Consultancy said on Wednesday.
Ethylene output in January fell by a similar amount compared with 4.616bn lb in December, the group said in its monthly Hodson report.
US crackers operated at 92.2% of capacity in January. The figure is down from 94.1% in December and 94.0 % in January 2011, the report showed.
