HOUSTON (ICIS)--California politicians and stakeholders joined recycling company carbonLITE on Friday for the opening of the company’s bottle-to-bottle recycling plant.
The plant has the capacity to recycle more than 2bn plastic polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles/year.
Products made using PET resin are recyclable and highly sustainable, the company said. PET can be recycled numerous times, turning bottles back into bottles, carbonLITE added.
The company specialises in processing used plastic bottles into bottle-grade PET pellets that can then be used to manufacture new plastic beverage bottles.
