SHANGHAI (ICIS)--China’s BASF-YPC shut its 200,000 tonne/year low density polyethylene (LDPE) plant at Nanjing province on 3 March for a turnaround, local distributors said on Monday.

The turnaround will last for about a week, a trader added.

Local distributors said the turnaround would reduce LDPE supply in the local market as BASF-YPC is one of the major producers in east China.

Officials from BASF-YPC, a joint venture between Sinopec and BASF, were unavailable for comment.
