The unit was shut down on 25 January for maintenance, the source added.
The company has restarted its 150,000 tonne/year methanol unit at the same site, which was taken off line together with the DME unit.
The methanol plant is expected to achieve on-spec products on 9 March, the source said.
The company can produce 500 tonnes/day of methanol and 300 tonnes/day of DME. Its methanol output is mainly for captive use to produce DME.
