SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sinopec Jinling Petrochemical restarted its 100,000 tonne/year dioctyl phthalate (DOP) plant at Nanjiang in Jiangsu on Thursday, a company source said.
The company shut down the plant on 19 February because of tight supply of feedstock 2-ethylhexanol (2-EH), the source said.
“We are currently running the plant at low operation rates and will achieve on-spec products this weekend,” the source added.
The restart of the plant may help ease the tight supply of DOP in the eastern China market, said a market player in the region.
