South Korea’s Daesan MMA to shut Yeosu units in March

BRISBANE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>South Korea’s Daesan MMA is planning to shut its 90,000 tonne/year methyl methacrylate (MMA) plant and 50,000 tonne/year downstream polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) plant in Yeosu in March for scheduled turnarounds, a company source said on Thursday.
The MMA plant will be shut on 13-28 March for a catalyst change, the source said.
The producer’s downstream PMMA plant will be shut from 18-22 April for regular maintenance, the source added.
Daesan MMA is a joint venture between Japan’s Mitsubishi Rayon Co (MRC) and South Korea’s Honam Petrochemical. By: Junie Lin
